Situated on the banks of the River Saône, Le Phénix is a wonderful 16th century Florentine building that has been masterfully restored to retain all of the charm of its 18th century interior. Based in the historic old quarter of Lyon, an area classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, the hotel’s fabulous wood panelling, large fireplaces and original columns perfectly capture the atmosphere of bygone times when the actors and musicians who performed by the river used to gather here.
Many of the hotel’s rooms have fantastic views of the river and all are superbly decorated in warm colours, offset by contemporary furnishings, to create a comfortable and relaxing environment. The hotel’s location makes it a great place to stay if you are exploring Lyon and the surrounding area. You will also find that Le Phénix’s musical heritage is still very much in evidence in the piano bar, which is renowned for its classical recitals and Thursday evening jazz concerts.
